CANBERRA, Australia ? Australian spy and French resistance hero Nancy Wake has died in London at age 98.
Wake's work during World War II helped her to become one of the Allies' most decorated servicewomen and led the Gestapo to give her the code name "The White Mouse."
Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard said Monday that Wake had died a day earlier in a London nursing home.
France decorated her with its highest military honor, the Legion d'Honneur, as well as four other medals. The United States awarded her its Medal of Freedom and Britain, the George Medal. Australia honored her in 2004 by making her a Companion of the Order of Australia.
